FAQ's
Answered by Butt Boy

"Is Butt Boy a DJ?"
No.  I'm a composer.  All my music is original and no sampling is ever used.  Every note is my own.

"What is Dungeon/BDSM Music?"
Music written specifically for BDSM play. When I write, I always visualize the action happening with the music.  That's why each album has a different feel to it.  I actually perform the BDSM acts to find the right speed and beat for the action. Though the songs are written with a specific sex act or sex scene in mind, you can still use the music to heighten any kind of scene you're into.

"What kind of music is it?"
I mix orchestral with techno.  Usually minor key with a sensuous beat.  A little trance-dance, groove or Goth style.   It's multi-track recordings written on a Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI) system.  (synthesized on a computer)

"Are there any lyrics?"
No.  There is some chanting of a credo on FEEL THE MUSIC and PLUGGED has a male "Daddy" talking dirty.  But they're quick and relegated to the background of the music.  Other albums have choirs singing only  "aah's".   I (and you) don't want my lyrics getting in the way of your dirty talk and/or head trip.

"What does the chanting mean in "The Depths Of All Pleasure"?"
The words are opposites that I've noticed in the BDSM community.  "Hurt-Hold" shows how we hurt by giving pain but then turn around and hold the pain receiver to show caring. "Pleasure-Pain" is the mixture of receiving pain and pleasure at the same time.  "Submit-Serve" refers to how a Submissive may submit but in the end the Dom is serving the Sub by giving the Sub the joys of submission.  And "Lose-Gain" refers to how the Sub gains the joys of submission by losing his/her power.  Thus the credo, "Hurt, Hold, Pleasure, Pain, Submit, Serve, Lose, Gain".

"How long are the albums?"
They all run at one hour or a little longer.  If you need more time for your scene, put several albums in a multiple CD player and "shuffle" them.  They are designed to play well together even when shuffled.  You can play for hours.

"Are you the same guy as in the bands Tekestral and SonicSphere?"
Yes.  Tekestral is actually just me.  It's the band name I write under for my more upbeat music.  And SonicSphere is another name I write Dungeon music under.  Whether you get a CD by Butt Boy, SonicSphere or by Tekestral, you're still hearing music from the same composer.  Just different styles of music for different uses for different audiences.  You can hear Tekestral dance music at http://www.TekestralMusic.com.  You can hear SonicSphere dungeon music at http://www.SonicSphereMusic.com.
